SheetCrafter started the same way most homebrew campaigns do — with me staring at a spreadsheet, wishing there was a better way.
The Problem I Ran Into
Every Game Master who runs a homebrew campaign hits the same wall. The system you invented doesn't fit any existing character sheet. Your players are tracking stats in Google Docs, copying rules from Discord, and your monster codex lives in five different places.
Commercial TTRPG tools are built around specific systems — D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu. If you're running something you made yourself, you're on your own. I built SheetCrafter to fix that.
What I Built
SheetCrafter is a fully system-agnostic toolset for tabletop RPG Game Masters. You design the rules. You design the sheets. Your players use them — no spreadsheets, no Discord copy-paste, no "just use D&D Beyond but ignore the D&D parts."
The platform gives GMs a template editor to build custom character sheets, a real-time Codex for NPCs, monsters, items, and lore, a campaign management dashboard, and live collaboration for players — all in one place.
Why I Keep Building It
I believe every GM deserves professional-grade tools regardless of whether they're running a published system or something they invented last Tuesday. SheetCrafter is built to be the infrastructure for your world — invisible when it's working, indispensable when you need it.
It's an independent, solo project. Every feature I ship comes from real sessions at real tables, and from feedback from the Game Masters who use SheetCrafter every week. If something bothers you, I want to hear about it.
What's Coming
The area I'm most interested in exploring next is world building — giving GMs a proper place to write and organise campaign lore. Think rich text for narrative writing alongside a wiki-style structure where lore pages, codex entries, and character sheets can reference each other, like a private fandom wiki for your world.
